The figure



When a body enters, it does not pose.

It is seen from behind, or half-dissolved, or waiting at the edge of a path. The face is rarely given. The gesture is small. No drama, no appeal to the viewer.

I am not painting portraits. I am painting presence — someone who remembers an origin, or approaches a light without claiming it.

If the figure becomes a story, I have gone too far.

If it remains a silhouette that belongs to the halo and the seam, it is still the same canon.
